August 13, 1940, was the date of your birth. Since that time, God has been with you even though at times you were not with Him. He knew there would come a time you would make the right decision and become His child.
You did, and that was the beginning. The beginning of your life. The beginning of us.
Now, many years later, we are coming to the conclusion that time is the greatest gift He has given us, He does not want us to be concerned with it, because time was not made for regret. It was not made for us to fear getting older. It was made for memories of the finer things in our life. It was also made for the now.
God gives us a certain amount of time. From the beginning, God and God alone knows the number of our days.
At one time in our lives, we believed that we had plenty to spend and it would be a long time before we would run out. Then all of a sudden, we find that we have spent a great deal of it. We become concerned of how much time we have left and how we can most wisely spend it.
That is what God wants of you. Not fear. Not perfection. But simply to look to Him for His guidance as we live each day.
Do not be concerned of the time left or how we have aged, but pull upon how we have loved, how much more can we contribute to our legacy, and how much more we can love in the now. We are not able to undo any unloving or bad decisions and actions from our past.
God gives us the now. He wants us to live in the now because tomorrow will then be the new now. What we do today creates the legacy of our life for tomorrow. He does not want us to worry about how long we have been here, or how much time we have left.
Let us allow Him to bless us as long as we are. The blessings of God are much greater than the fear of getting old. We will be fine whether we are here or whether we are there.
